I'm sorry that i've left this community stagnant for so long. I've decided to change up the format a little & start posting challenges again. I hope it works a little better this time.

>> each week i'll post 1 screencap to make an icon off.
>> make up to two icons from this screencap & post them as a NEW POST to this comm
>> voting will take place afterwards.

This is really similar to capchallenge I quite like it because it requires little thinking on the makers part to choose what to make & the icons can be easily compared.

I also like the posting-to-the-comm format because then people can comment right away, you can use it right away & get feedback. Plus its a reminder to enter the challenge!

If people don't like this set up though, i can change it, just let me know.

YAY, you're back! I'm excited about this. Maybe you could post more than one cap at a time for makers to choose from? Just a suggestion. It works this way, too. :)

aww yay!!!

I might do that for the next challenge. I know as an icon maker, i really like it when there are caps to choose from because i'm lazy, but if people would rather we did themes as well i can do that too

I like the idea of everyone using the same cap(s) because it's interesting to see what different takes people have on the same image! Themes are fun, too, though.

I was just thinking of making a non-competitive DW icon challenge the other day. There used to be one on LJ back when I first started making icons, and the themes were varied and fun. I can't remember the name of it, but the idea was just to create and share and have fun. (not that competition isn't fun, but when the same makers win over and over - not because of popularity, but because they're just good that way - it's frustrating)

i would cry happy tears if there were more icon comms on DW actually. I WOULD JOIN ALL THE COMMS.

the only other ones i know of are nexticon & fridayfive but i would love something non-competitive, like maybe just posting a round up post instead of voting, or a 20in20 with the same thing.

its ok! moreeeeee icon comms! i admit i've been slack here because i kinda hate entering my own challenges and then i forget about things, but i'm going to be better. lol
