Aw, Flower Fairies!!

I'm usually not into tiny fairies but I just can't resist her Flower Fairies :-)

They're so pretty and botannically accurate! I am not much into fairies, either, but I spent a lot of days when I was ill tracing her fairies to make into paper cut-outs for my sisters. I'd never thought of trying to icon them before.

Yeah, the botanical details are probably what first attracted me to them - I'm a complete flower nut :-) I made a whole bunch of icons with the seasonal fairies a couple of years ago. I haven't been in an icon-making mood in over a year but now I'm starting to feel the urge to make more Flower Fairies icons!

Aww, they're a great set! I think it's that combination - that she paid attention to the botanical detail and also used real children as models. I have (a non-flowery) another little book of folk rhymes that she also illustrated and it's also beautiful but not over-cute.

More Flower Fairies couldn't be a bad thing!

Thank you! I didn't know she used real models. That explains how different they all look. Not at all the same pretty face you see on most other "cute" fairies.
