Challenge 150: BINGO!

HELLO! And welcome to challenge 150, luminousdaze kindly asked if I would guest-mod for this one and post a celebratory challenge :) It's been running for 150 challenges!! Since it started in 2012! That's 10 YEARS (next month). Well done to luminousdaze for taking it over when I couldn't run it anymore, and for all of you that have participated over the years :)

This post is a LOT....please read carefully/ask any questions if needed!!


1. Create icons based on the bingo card prompts below!
2. You have the option of best of set voting (4 or 8 icons) and/or non-voting (any number icons). This is not a competition against others, but rather a competition for yourself.
3. You can submit either 4 or 8 icons for best of set voting (if 8, icons will be posted together, each user will have 1 set of either 4 or 8 icons), however you can go ahead and do any further icons from the full bingo card (16) in your post - just mark which ones are for voting, and which ones are extras.
4. Your sets must go in a row - vertical or horizontal and you may not repeat themes. (eg. letter, inside, star-*, behind). Any non-voting/non-set icons can be from wherever you like.
5. Interpret the themes as you wish, except for texture and the colour, which need to be visible in your icon.

Just to clarify, we are trying to complete a line, or two lines, to get a bingo, so I assume we can go horizontal, vertical, or diagonal like a normal bingo, correct?

That's the one! You could only do the diagonal for a 4-icon set though, as you wouldn't have another 4-line with no repeats.

But since it's 4x4, the two diagonals don't cross, so you could do those.

What does the themes hard mode and terra cotta imply ??

You can definitely interpret them the way you like - but my thoughts are below;
Hard mode - Using a technique that is hard to you, iconing a game-based fandom or hard/harsh colouring etc.
TerraCotta - either the colour, or stock icons that feature terracotta, or a terracotta texture

Can star be Stargate SG-1 or Stargate Atlantis as well?

Also probably dumb questions, but what is tropey (is that like tv/fanfic tropes?) and terra cotta for the icon themes?

Yes! absolutely, any star-related fandom

Tropey is basically that - an icon based on tropes or archetype fandoms eg. John is Colonel Badass among other things - https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ColonelBadass

TerraCotta - either the colour, or stock icons that feature terracotta, or a terracotta texture

Are you going to use my time zone for the deadline? It's now on Pacific daylight savings time.
I set the countdown clock if anyone wants to check it. I always wait until the last minutes to enter. If it's the wrong zone, never mind.

I only just realized that Star-* should be a Star-related fandom. I saw magicrubbish's set and thought the theme "star crossed" would be fine, no matter the fandom. Would it?

Absolutely!! I just added both for a bit more flexibility, but you can interpret how you wish :)

Sorry, quick question. Does "free space" mean that it's a free prompt and we can submit anything for it? Or does it mean literally "free space", as in, lots of open space in the icon?
