Or use design elements, fake backgrounds, patterns & color schemes inspired by desert climates & locations.

❇️ You may use any fandoms: TV series, movies, comics, video games, actors or stars of music, fashion or sports.
❇️ Non-fandom icons: stock photography or illustration. Please, no real world political or religious topics.
❇️ Icons are 100x100px, 60kb or less.
❇️ Icons entered must be new for the challenges, and made by you.
     Icons should be all new for iconthat & not previously posted elsewhere for any other challenges or blogs.

You guessed it! :D And more Mando & Grogu, of course. Most of the icons I found of characters in desert scenes are of Star Wars or Doctor Who.

Disney app is stupidly not letting me screengrab anything though, hrrmph. I do need me at least one Boba icon of him in his filthy jammies :DDD

Do it! I'm too lazy to look for caps :) Though my first thought for this challenge was to check Mandalorian and Star Wars, so I'm not that far off :)

Haha, okay, there are really nice galleries for SW up though! Maybe tomorrow I'll post some over there. I have to tally the voting first.
These are the best galleries I know of in the meantime...I think Cap-That's is easiest to navigate & fastest, sometimes KtG is busy & slow to load.

Oh, thank you so much. Though for the caps I was only referring to the Boba Fet ones. The "do it" was about posting them on capshare. Sorry for the confusion 🤦🏼‍♀️ but I really appreciate the links!

You're welcome! :) No problem, I think I confused myself again. I'll pick a few of the BF show soon-ish. I can't pick from Dune, because I haven't watched it yet so I don't know which scenes are the best of the desert or the worm.

Do I have to show desert in my icons if I pull my inspiration from the color palettes? Because that first palette speaks to me.

You don't to have to use realistic desert backgrounds or screen caps with actual deserts. Using one of the color palettes only is okay. Maybe you can try adding sandy or dusty effects to fit the theme. A few of the entries so far have abstract desert inspired backgrounds.

If you could please don't make icons that show completely different environments, or non-desert weather or animals, like stock icons of whales or something.
